Well just about anything seems to be going the HTML5 way now. Recently, a hacker has managed to jailbreak Apple TV
and surprise! He discovered that it supports HTML5 too. As a proof of concept, he has created a basic Blackjack card game. Now, this may not be very entertaining, but the very fact that it can be done is indicative of an exciting future.
Maybe Apple will up its game with its TV offering and open it up to app developers. Apple doesn’t officially support apps on this platform yet, so we may have to wait a bit until they break the news themselves.
AirPlay may not be the best solution all the time as those apps won’t be optimized for television. Text will be a lot smaller and clunky.
